The Casino Association of New Jersey (CANJ) recently reported that its properties have undergone extensive upgrades, ensuring that they are ready to provide unmatched dining, entertainment, and gaming experiences. Mark Giannantonio, the president of Resorts Casino Hotel and CANJ, expressed excitement for the coming summer and stated, “The resorts have undergone significant upgrades and are ready for their best summer yet.”
As Atlantic City prepares to welcome visitors, Giannantonio highlighted the vital role of exciting attractions and unique offerings. “Exciting entertainment attractions and unique offerings are essential to continue to attract visitors to our great city. That is why the casino industry continues to reinvest in our properties to create world-class experiences for our customers,” he noted.
Promising Economic Indicators
According to the Lloyd D. Levenson Institute of Gaming, Hospitality, and Tourism at Stockton University, the casinos invested over $200 million in capital expenditures last year. However, recent data from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement revealed that the casino hotel occupancy rate for the first quarter of 2025 was 62.9%, a slight decline from the previous year.
Summer is historically a time when Atlantic City sees a surge in visitors. Recent efforts to restore the sandy beaches along the Boardwalk have created a welcoming environment for sunbathers hoping to soak up the sun.
The upcoming air show, scheduled for July 15-16, is expected to attract many visitors and features family-friendly entertainment. The Visit Atlantic City Soar & Shore Festival will host aerial performances, including flights from New Jersey ANG F-16s, a MiG-17, and a World War II B-25 Bomber.
Exciting Casino Upgrades
Borgata, Atlantic City’s leading casino by annual win, unveiled a new 25,000-square-foot Asian gaming area, deeming it the most significant gaming refresh in its history. This new area will include high-limit gaming and a unique bar catering to multilingual guests. Furthermore, a new dining establishment, Noodles, will offer a culinary journey through Asia.
Not to be outdone, Tropicana has announced renovation plans for its all-new Solana Tower, which will feature modern designs inspired by the vibrant atmosphere of Palm Walk.
Ocean Casino Resort is also undergoing a $50 million renovation to revamp its rooms that first opened in 2012, adding new family-friendly amenities like a mini putt course.
Resorts Casino is investing $13 million in various upgrades, including an expansion of the Landshark beach bar and the introduction of a new cocktail lounge.
